Help?

Ugh. I am ridiculously, insanely, woefully behind on cards this year.

Really, I should have gotten to them last night, but the house needed to be cleaned, gifts wrapped, laundry folded - no excuse, but you know how it goes.

So here's my question: knowing that they won't get there before Christmas, do I send them anyway?

Hrm.

Yes! It's perfectly acceptable to send out holiday cards late! Besides, Your card will be the one on top of all rest of the cards people already received! ;)

Sure, send them anyway, my Aunt calls hers New Years cards because she is notoriously late. One year we got her cards in February. We just laugh about it.

Send e-mail ( hallmark ) cards....
then at least it looks like you didn't forget...

I din't get mine out this year ( too busy also!!!) so a majority of people will be getting e-mail cards....

Marry Christmas ( just incase I don't get a chance to talk to you!)

If it has a photo of that gorgeous little boy, and if I am on the list, absolutely!! Send them no matter how late!! :0)

If not, don't bother. Everyone certainly understands.

Yes because they are holiday cards and the holidays go through Jan. 1

Of course. Christmas is a season and technically lasts 12 days. Mine are super late as well this year and are going to have to wait 1 more day.

If you want to send them, you definitely should. People will simply be happy to receive them, and won't be bothered that the cards arrive after Christmas Day. (And if that does bother them, then bah-humbug to them!)

Besides, if the retailers can start celebrating Christmas three months early, what should stop us from continuing to celebrate for a week or two after? Happy Holidays! =)

I hope everyone agrees that you get a free pass on those cards. As mine are still sitting on my counter, as I walk past I feel the twinge of guilt for not getting them out. So I say Free Pass and we'll catch everyone next year.

Have a very merry Christmas.

Yes. Send them whenever you get the chance. Then blame the post office. LOL

Good luck getting everything finished on time! I'm feeling the crunch! Gotta go clean now.... :\

I agree with Rachel. People will simply assume the post office was crazy busy.

Because I'm chronically late with my cards every year, I've gotten into the habit of getting cards that only say happy holidays. That way, when I miss sending them out in time for Christmas, I just write them up for New Year's. :D

Go ahead, send them out. Though, I suspect you already did.

My theory is: if they are out the door by Christmas Eve then you are good to go!

I'm a mama! SleepydoodleLittle Samson Daniel was born on February 24th, 2006. Sammy was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He underwent his first open heart surgery at 4 days old and his second at 5 months old. He will need another surgery when he's between 2 and 3 years old. His mama and daddy, however, think he's absolutely perfect. You can read all about his birth here, or all about him on his site, baby samson.
