Things that make me happy: fall, playing, cleaning and JJill

Been very busy - lots of visits with friends new and old, a Red Sox game, lots of work and planning and grading, and then there's this whole "no cleaning when I could be playing with Sammy" rule we've put into effect. Yesterday we took a wonderful walk and played in the leaves instead of mopping the floor. Good times! Of course, the OCDer in me cringed every time I saw a strawberry-juice spot on the kitchen floor, and we won't discuss the weird stickiness I know I wasn't imagining, but it WAS nice to let go and just enjoy playing instead. Sure, I twitch when Eli shows up to watch Sammy in the morning and the carpet looks like I haven't vacuumed in days - but I'm enjoying learning how to let go a bit. (Just a bit - anything more and I think I would implode.)

Completely unrelated - I've never been much of a catalog browser - I always preferred to shop in the store. Now? I love my JJill catalogs - so much that I dogeared a bunch of pages for when the $25 off $50 promo code made its way around again. (See where I'm going with this?) Anyway - the code is FL3BB7 - shipping is still charged, but hey - $25 off? Not a bad deal.

Discount will NOT show up until after the order has been placed (it shows up on the confirmation page). Obnoxious, but it works. I am very much looking forward to when this shows up, and I'm eyeing this sweater in the onyx or rose. Ahhhh, pretty new clothes make me happy - especially when I don't have to pay full price for them. Enjoy!

You already know this - but in 10 years you won't remember that your floors were scary - but you will remember how much fun it was to play in the leaves with Sammy. :) Good for you for having dirty floors! LOL!

ohhhhh i love that sweater too!

i like the no cleaning when you can be playing with Sammy rule!!!

Ooh I love J.Jill, but I still need some of my baby weight to disappear before I can justify anything more than Old Navy. Isn't the internet amazing. You can find such great discounts and you have so many shopping options. I just found a bag I really wanted (the exact one) on close out for $30 when everyone else was charging at least $50 for it.

Thanks for the heads up on JJill. I was just wistfully thumbing through my catalogue last night!

Oooh, thanks for the JJill code! I just got the Malory Skirt and a Touch-of-Velvet tee to match all for $35 (before shipping and tax, but still!). Yay!

I say go with the onyx.

"No cleaning when I could be playing with Sammy" sounds like a great rule. Don't break it! ;)

I'm a mama! SleepydoodleLittle Samson Daniel was born on February 24th, 2006. Sammy was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He underwent his first open heart surgery at 4 days old and his second at 5 months old. He will need another surgery when he's between 2 and 3 years old. His mama and daddy, however, think he's absolutely perfect. You can read all about his birth here, or all about him on his site, baby samson.
