How I miss the sweet smell of breastmilk poop... those were the days.

So baby vomit smell? Slightly sweet, formula-like. Not apple pie, but not all too awful either.

Toddler vomit smell? Especially when forcefully spewed all over the porch? Much too much like adult vomit, especially when mixed with hours old lasagna and more recent, but not recent enough, milk. I can't get the smell out of my nose, and now I feel sick to my stomach.

I think he's okay. He puked twice and is back to playing. He's been running a low fever for a few days... cross your fingers that it's not a sign of something larger. Ugh.

(Edited at 6:10am: It's definitely something larger. Stomach viruses suck. Poor kid.)

Uck! I hope Sammy's ok. Trevor has thrown up only once as a toddler and he ask's his Aunt Terri, "Why'd I do that"? So sad.
The milk smell is the worst. It's so sour. BLAH!!!

Oh my GOD. I know. I've been lamenting about this for awhile now. He was really bad for awhile, until we finally got our ped to give us some zantac. But man, spit up smells so sweet compared to baby vomit. Guh.

Ew. Ew, ew, ew, ew. You poor thing - that would have me squirming too. Blech!

The first time my niece ever vomited big-kid vomit, was at my front-door, right onto the door-step and into my sister's purse. I was the good sister, I cleaned up her purse, while she cleaned up her child. Not a nice smell.

Oooh, ick. So sorry. We went through that a month or so ago ... lasted over a week with us and we didn't get baby puke either ... we got "been eating lotsa solids" pukes. ICK.

Dylan has the same thing, been running a fever for days, threw up once Friday night/Saturday morning.... I LOVE October when the weather isn't right and the kids bring home something fun!!

Oui, I am so sorry to hear that Sammy is sick. It is always so painful watching a little one try to cope. You just want so badly to take away that uncomfortable feeling they are going through. I do hope he feels better soon, and that you and your hubby don't catch it as well.

Oh, big stomach upsets are the worst!

Feel better soon, Sammy.

We all had a stomach bug a month ago and my 4 1/2 year old threw up in the middle of the night (the kids sleep with their doors shut) and slept through it. The next morning he came downstairs and said there were crumbs in his bed. I looked at him covered in puke and when I got half way up the stairs I started dry heaving from the stench coming out of his room. I don't know how the closed door contained it but it did.

Poor little guy! It's so hard for them to understand....

Quick vomit hint - while cleaning up, put a little vick's vapor-rub under your nose (the baby vick's works okay, too) It keeps you from smelling most things- I use it when we travel- serious hairtrigger gag reflex here. Plus- you keep it in the medicine closet, and if someone's vomiting, you'll end up in there anyway...

I hope Sammy's feeling better!

I'm a mama! SleepydoodleLittle Samson Daniel was born on February 24th, 2006. Sammy was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He underwent his first open heart surgery at 4 days old and his second at 5 months old. He will need another surgery when he's between 2 and 3 years old. His mama and daddy, however, think he's absolutely perfect. You can read all about his birth here, or all about him on his site, baby samson.
