Don't know why I felt the need to make this an entire post all by itself.

Seriously - I could listen to Counting Crows' "Anna Begins" probably fifty times over without tiring of it.

I know I can't be the only one. Well, Jay can listen to it over and over as well, as is evidenced by the fact that we've listened to it probably five times in the last hour. But outside of us, I know we're not the only ones. I'm not sure what makes it such a fantastic song - maybe because it's so raw and honest and we've all been there? Dunno. Love it.

In other news, cardiology appointment in the morning - just a check-in, though last time he said we'd schedule the cath at this appointment. It feels way too early to me to schedule it now if his surgery isn't until May or June, so we'll see. Think good thoughts - I'm hoping that since Sammy now loves stickers that his EKG might be a little easier to tolerate - look! Cool stickers on your tummy!

Ha. Mama's totally just fooling herself, isn't she? Sigh.

(So my iPod just went from Anna Begins to the Wiggles, Hot Potato. All music tastes are clearly represented in this household.)

Anyway, good thoughts for tomorrow would be much appreciated. He's got his 18-month check-up (a month late) and potentially his Synagis (RSV) shot at the pediatrician after, and Jay's tackling that on his own while I take the seniors to see some democracy at its finest. Good times. Heh.

I will definitely have good thoughts for your little Sammy's check up with the doctor :)

I am sending all the good vibes I can ! Sammy will do great!
RSV shot already??? you guys must start early. We don't start here until November.

Best of luck Sammy.... I think you will need a lot of stickers after those shots....

My favorite line has got to be "Every time she sneezes I believe it's love".

That is one of my favorite songs of all time. That whole first album is amazing, but that song is the best of them all. The version on "Across a Wire" is awesome.

Thinking good thoughts. :)

LOVE that song. Its on my 'top 25' list on my ipod, the whole August and Everything After Album I can listen to on repeat but that song is clearly head and shoulders above the rest. My friend Bobby used to sing it to me in college b/c of my favorite line from the song: "everytime she sneezes he believes its love" - when I sneeze I do it about 8x in a row so he would always say, that when I sneezed there would be enough love in the world. Lame but it always made me smile.

The sound of Adam Duritz' voice makes me want to stick needles in my eyes. But yeah, I know what you mean. my repeat song is Filter's "Take a Picture." Even though I know we have remarkably different music taste, I think you would like that one if you haven't already heard it.

I have Sammy on the brain today and always - hope everything went well.

miss you.

Can't wait to hear how it goes. And, yes, you're fooling yourself with the sticker thing. LOL. Honestly, it's gone both ways with Marcus. He usually does OK with them at this point. But one never knows. ;/ I will be making the trip to K.C. (or should I say, me, Matthew and Marcus)on Monday for his cardiology appointment where the plan is for him to be taken off of his Lasix altogether leaving him with Enalapril and aspirin, only, just like old times. Now, that is encouraging. Can't wait (But I could do without the 7 plus hours in a car with two little ones on my own...LOL...oh, wait...I forgot we have the van with the DVD player now...we'll be fine!! :))

Love ya,
Shari

I'm a mama! SleepydoodleLittle Samson Daniel was born on February 24th, 2006. Sammy was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He underwent his first open heart surgery at 4 days old and his second at 5 months old. He will need another surgery when he's between 2 and 3 years old. His mama and daddy, however, think he's absolutely perfect. You can read all about his birth here, or all about him on his site, baby samson.
