1, 2, 3 stickers on my face - ahahahahahah

DSC_8611So today my son counted to five. Not once, as a fluke, not twice, but four times.

We picked up some vintage little people (1965!), and sure enough, he counted out five of them for me. And then again for Jay. And then a couple of more times, just because didn't you know? Children are there simply to perform on command for our entertainment! ;-) He recognizes the numbers up to ten when I'm counting and prompting him - but this is the first he's counted on his own. Crazy.

And then my little genius ran around the house "argh"ing like a pirate, rolling balls through his tunnel, throwing little people and screaming "Whoa!" and sticking scratch-and-sniff stickers all over everything, including mama's nose and daddy's cheek, but most importantly, and most entertainingly, all over himself. Oy, the energy this kid's got!

He's just so much fun today that I can almost forgive him for being up for four hours in the middle of the night last night. Almost. Ask me again when he naps long enough to let me nap too - though it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Damn molars and eye teeth!

1 - Talk like a pirate day is Sept. 19. See this post... http://bowlofcheese.com/?p=374

2 - Counting is cool, but don't let him go to the NY State Fair and count the pigs. Look at the latest post at BOC. My GF took her two nieces there and had to explain the pig on a spit.

3 - Finally, I have taken forever to do so, but there are now writing exercises on my main site.

I keep reading here and keep thinking of you guys. I also think of you everytime I see a Ford Focus, but that's so 2000.

Later,

Jeff

He's worth every bit of it!! I can't believe how big he's getting!

Love ya,
Shari

My does he ever look so mischievous in that photo.

I can't beleive how big he is. And he really looks a lot like his mommy.
So cute.
Isn't it amazing what they learn and know.
So far for a week Trevor has been in big boy undies and all on his own doing. Last Monday he decided he wanted to wear his big boys. Of course it is after I just bought $50.00 worth of pull ups but hey that's the way it goes.

I'm a mama! SleepydoodleLittle Samson Daniel was born on February 24th, 2006. Sammy was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He underwent his first open heart surgery at 4 days old and his second at 5 months old. He will need another surgery when he's between 2 and 3 years old. His mama and daddy, however, think he's absolutely perfect. You can read all about his birth here, or all about him on his site, baby samson.
