Whew.

No rabies!

How my conversation with the vet tech went:

Me: Hi, I'm calling about a bat that was sent for rabies testing.
Vet tech: Hold on, let me check.
...
Vet tech: It's negative.
Me: No rabies?
Vet tech: Negative. No rabies.
Me: And that was the bat under the name M*****.
Vet tech: Yes.
Me: So the bat sent out with the name M**** came back no rabies.
Vet tech: Yes.
Me: Yes, it had rabies, or no, it came back no rabies.
Vet tech: No rabies, m'am.
Me: Ok, it's safe to let my cats out?
Vet tech: Yes. The bat did not have rabies, so your cats do not have rabies.
Me: Ok. So let's just get through this one more time. The bat sent out with the name M**** came back no rabies. You checked the name, right? So my cats don't have rabies? They're okay around my small child then?

Honestly, I would have hung up on me by this point.

They can't get the cats in for vaccinations until next Monday, but you better bet your butt, those vaccinations are NEVER going to lapse again.

A-freakin'-men.

Whew! What a huge relief!

Thank God!!!!!

Now that that's over, when you came out with your bat story all I could think about was at your house in Tupper Lake when we were out in the middle of the lake and bats started flying at us. And then writing the poem in the guest book.

Something like...'Bats, bats everywhere, bats, bats in my hair, bats..aaahhhhh'

So glad! Praise the Lord! I really did think it was going to be alright. But then again, I have "x" number of things I'm freaking out about in my own life that others would probably shrug their shoulders at, at this point. Know what I mean? I think it goes with the "having a child with HLHS" territory! Dang it!!

Ugh. *Sigh*

Overwhelmed over here with so much to do after FINALLY being home after so long. But HALLELUJAH!! we are home and Marcus is ALIVE and THRIVING (and ornery! LOL) and just plain WONDERFUL!!

Please note that I am using a new e-mail address. Silly highspeed one only lets me have like 400 some messages and then it's full! So I got me a gmail account.

It's going to be alright. One step at a time.

Love ya,
Shari

I am very glad to hear that everything turned out okay. It was a stressor that you didn't need. But you will look back on this and laugh one day.Maybe not for a while but you will.

By the way,can I assume that Sammy won't be dressing up as a bat for Halloween??? ha ha..
Hope the house reno's are going well. Talk soon.

I'm a mama! SleepydoodleLittle Samson Daniel was born on February 24th, 2006. Sammy was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He underwent his first open heart surgery at 4 days old and his second at 5 months old. He will need another surgery when he's between 2 and 3 years old. His mama and daddy, however, think he's absolutely perfect. You can read all about his birth here, or all about him on his site, baby samson.
